This is a PAIR of new high quailty reproduction outside door mirrors for a 1955, 1956, or 1957 Chevrolet. They are a exact reproduction of the original mirrors offered for these cars by GM (part #987460). Left and right mirror are the same. The base is bright chrome, the mirror back is polished stainless steel. The 4.5 inch lens is optical quality tinted glass as original. They come with template (for the correct placement of screws), molded rubber gasket.........see picture (not a flat piece of rubber as some others offer), and the two propper stainless steel mounting screws. They attach to the car as original. One screw is under the mirror and slides into a key-hole shaped hole in the underside base of the mirror. The second screw goes into a recessed hole in the rear of the mirror base (see picture for this hole). The mirror heads are firmly attached to the base for secure adjustments that stay in place when you slam the door or drive over 60 mph. (I personally check every mirror before packaging.) This is a "seven wire" turn signal kit. That means you can use your existing rear brake lights for the rear turn indicators. No need to add extra lights (but you can if you wish). The kit includes two dual element replacement sockets (will fit hole 3/4 to 1 1/8) and bulbs to be used in place of your current parking light sockets. One element will be for our parking lights, one element wil be for your turn signal. Or you can simply use your existing parking lights for your front indicators, but then you will lose the parking light function. The switch is manual canceling. No "little wheel" on the back. It has green pilot lights that indicate turning right or left and a red pilot light for the 4-way hazard. The red knob is the 4-way hazard. It is released by moving the switch handle either way. This is a GAMA patented side post battery disconnect switch for GM products. GM started with side post batteries in 1970 for big block cars. From 1971 on all GM products have had side post batteries. The included bolt attaches the switch to the threaded hole in the battery. The threaded cable end attaches to the threaded hole in the opposite end of the switch. Simple installation. The switch works equally well on the positive or negative post. Negative is safer because the negative is the ground (for GM) and if something grounded touches the switch there won't be a short. This is a package of 10 NEW 6 volt #1154 bulbs. 1154's are dual element and have staggered (indexed) pins. They are recently manufactured to current DOT standards for long life. Filaments are evenly wound and well secured for uniform illumination and resistance to shock and vibration. Candle power is 21/3. These are not bulbs that have been laying around since the 1950's. The problem with old bulbs is that the adhesive that holds the globe to the base has failed. When you try to put them in, the globe turns in the base and you just twist off the wires.
